Sunday, October 4: Deadline to register to vote in general election.
Friday, October 30: Deadline to apply for absentee ballot for general election. Voters should apply at least one week prior to Election Day to allow for adequate mail time.
Tuesday, November 3: Absentee ballot must arrive at ballot location by Election Day (recommended postmark 5 days earlier).

Deadline to register to vote by mail: October 4th
Election day: November 3rd
Absentee ballots must be received by mail by: Tuesday, November 3rd
You should receive an acknowledgment within two to four weeks after submitting or mailing your registration. Please contact your local county registration office if you have not received any information from them by then.
Vote November 3rd
If you are unable to vote absentee, there are no other early voting options.
Voting absentee by mail
As of now, only qualifying South Carolina voters will be able to vote absentee in the general election. Use this link to see if you qualify.
If you qualify, you can request an absentee application online, or you can call your local voter registration office to have an application mailed to you.
Once received, you need to complete and sign the application and return it to your county voter registration office. You should return the application as soon as possible but no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, October 30. You may return the application by mail, email, or fax.

Remember that all completed absentee ballots must be received by Election Day, November 3.
Voting in person
As South Carolina does not permit early voting, you must vote on Election Day, June 9th.
